Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great. Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned. Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed. She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire. (Ezekiel 24:9-12)
GOD has nothing good to say about the condition of Jerusalem and its people. They are so corrupt and horrendous in their Idolatry and rebellion to GOD's Law that He is completely contemptuous of that city, and His full wrath and righteous Judgment will soon be poured out upon them. GOD will unleash the Babylonians who will tear down the walls, the gates, and even the temple leaving very little in their wake, they will even pursue some of the Jews who try to escape to Egypt and overtake and destroy many of them there. GOD is serious about His people being holy, righteous, and set apart for His work.
He hasn't changed and today He expects the members of His Church, the Body to be about our Father's business, and taking the Gospel to this lost and dying world. Without compromising His principles and commands, we should use every means necessary to reach those that don't know Him with the Good News of His love and sacrifice, lest we by our disobedience be consumed as Jerusalem was. We also must teach the nations, and preach His Word, that all might hear and believe, and we can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. Jesus did not give us any options, He has the right to demand obedience from those that are truly adopted into His family.
For those without, that are still in their sIns, GOD says that you must be born again. He is not willing that any should perish, but wants everyone to come to the knowledge of the Truth. The Truth that Jesus is GOD, and He loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. He says that you must repent, that is surrender to Him on His terms. Turn from your sIn, and turn to GOD, believing that His finished work on the Cross of Calvary is sufficient for your Salvation. He calls you to believe Him, and receive His free gift of a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting today.
If you are adopted into His family by Faith, tell others of His love, mercy, and grace today.
