Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. (2Th 3:6-10)
Those who are living like the world and not in fellowship with GOD, though they may have the relationship, are not to come along side us in the ministry and work of the Church, until they are counseled and repentant. It sounds harsh, but if their actions are in contrast to their testimony, they weaken the ministry and are living a lie, which does not bring glory to our Lord and our GOD. We, as ministers of reconciliation, are to seek to restore them in their walk with the Lord, but we cannot condone, actively or in silence, what they do and say, when it contradicts the teaching of GOD's Word.
We are set apart from this world to be Holy and to represent our Lord and His Kingdom, as His ambassadors. We are to live as citizens of Heaven, residents aliens and strangers in this world, giving glory to our Lord and King in all that we do and say. Our worship must be about Him, not the music, or the style, or even the order, but directed toward our GOD. Our work and service is to be in Him, and through Him, and for Him, for He is our Lord and Master. Our lives must be filled up with His Spirit, living and expressing the Word of GOD, and reflecting Jesus Christ to this lost and dying world.
We are called to serve Him by serving those around us who are hurting and in need, doing the work and will of our Father in this broken and sinful world, but not of it, until He returns for His own, to take us Home to be with Him. We are commanded to love one another, in fellowship with GOD's people, equipping and encouraging one another, as we disciple one another in the Word of GOD, and we all grow up into the full measure of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, conformed to His image and in the fullness of His love. We are commissioned to take His Word to this lost and dying world, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we go, and telling all who will hear of the Good News of repentance and faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary that brings reconciliation with the Father and life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
