Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (Jas 4:13-17)
While there is much in this sinful and dying world that GOD has allowed to simply happen as a result of our disobedience and sin, nothing happens that He is not fully aware of and He is in control of this world. He is King, the King of kings and Lord of lords. The rain may fall on the just and the unjust, and disasters and calamities of all types, evil events in this fallen and broken world, may occur seemingly randomly, but our GOD is still on His Throne and either allows it or directs it for our growth and His Glory.
As His children we ought to seek His permission, not as a blessing on our plans, since even the plans ought to come from Him, but to seek His will and do His work and not our own. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, so we wait on Him, and that doesn't mean standing still until He tells us to move, but continuing in Him who is our rest, to serve Him, to do His will and that which He has already commanded, until He tells us to do otherwise, or takes us Home to be with Him. Whatever He tells us, we are to do, as His servants and all for our growth in Him as He conforms us to the image of His Son and to the Glory of GOD who is over all.
His people, doing His Work and that which He wills, minister to those around us who are hurting and in need, serving as His ambassadors with the Word of reconciliation that others may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. His Church, loving one another and in obedience to Him, fellowship together as we disciple one another in His Word until we are all grown up into the full measure of Him who loved us. His children, equipped with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to go in the power and at the direction of the Holy Spirit are to go into this lost and dying world with the Good News of forgiveness through repentance of our sin, and Salvation and reconciliation with the Father through faith in Him and and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, that those who repent and believe might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD, forgiveness from GOD, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
