Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. (Hosea 4:1-3)
The Lord Jesus, GOD Himself, cannot abide sIn; for He is Holy and righteous. He judges all who are in rebellion, as already guilty before Him. But especially arrogant, are the ones who claim to know Him, and yet act like unbelievers. GOD pronounces an extra curse upon the land of Israel, because of their sIn; and will do that to those of His that continue in disobedience to Him.
When we as the Church talk as if there is no truth, or act without mercy, or think as if we don't know GOD; Jesus is rightfully displeased with His children. When we: who are to be salt and light, with no corrupt communication out of our mouth, and love one for another, tear each other apart, take our brothers to court, shoot our wounded and ruin our testimony by our sinful behaviour toward one another; we are worse than those that are lost. We expect that they act that way; but we are to set apart from the world and have victory over sIn through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our life. We should not live as if GOD didn't exist.
This may be harsh, and the truth sometimes is; but if you are without, an unbeliever: understand that GODs wrath is upon you and you are already condemned.
Regardless, GODs message is the same: Repent, trust Him and believe in the forgiveness He provides when we surrender to Him on His terms. I pray that whatever your need of Jesus Christ, you will respond today.
