And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the Words of this Law. (Deut. 29:2-4, 29
Moses reviewed God’s deliverance from Egypt and His providential care during the wilderness for the people so that they would understand that the miracles of God were not God showing off or fancy parlor tricks. God cared for His people and worked His will and His ways for their good that they might grow and come to know Him personally as well as glorify the LORD as a nation. God is a personal God who cares for each one of us and also the God who chose Israel to be His people. Though they knew Him historically and remembered His works, they would come to know Him personally and providentially for themselves.
We can know God through His works of creation and redemption as well as His providence in caring for us and working all things together for good. He created a perfect world and even though we messed everything up by our sin, He provided redemption through His Son and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. All who repent of their sins and come to Him on His terms by faith through grace know Him not only as creator and redeemer but also as friend, Lord, and King. Those that have not yet met the Lord and been born again will face Him as Judge because of their sins. God wants all to come to know Him and enter into a personal covenant with Him through faith in Him unto Salvation which He has already purchased for all who will receive it.
God has sent those who are His and know Him out into this world to reach the lost that they might be saved from sin. He desires that His people strive to be holy and obedient unto Him that we might minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as He provides. We serve others, equipped with the Word of reconciliation and righteousness, rightly divided and fitly spoken, that they may see Christ in us, the hope of Glory. Our God has commanded us to love one another with an unfeigned love, even as He first loved us, and to disciple one another in the Word of God so that we may all grow in grace and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our Lord has commissioned those who are His with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to go where He sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit. As we go, we are to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness through repentance and reconciliation with the Father through faith in His Son, that those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah of God might have life in His Name.
God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. God calls you to faith in Christ and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with God, forgiveness from God, and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is God the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
In Christ,
