Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the Word of the LORD came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in Mine hand, O house of Israel. At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; (Jeremiah 18:3-7)
Nations, Churches, and the people of GOD are all in His hands to do as He will. But, GOD is a loving and perfect father that wants what is best for us, but will not force us to obey. He will punish our disobedience and His justice is right. He will direct the paths of those that listen, and will set up or tear down nations according to His perfect plan. He has not forgotten or forsaken Israel, It is all in His perfect timing, just as He foretold in His Word.
Regardless of whether it is the individual congregations that He condemns or praises, the several Nations that fit His plan, or each of us; when we are in obedience and proper fellowship with our Lord He will bless, but when we stray or disobey He chastises and corrects. And He can bring our time here to an end if we are so far out of His Will and Word that we are no longer of any use to Him, or if it fits His perfect plan. He is in control and all things are in His hands, He is still on the throne, no matter how bad things seem to get in this broken and sinful world, we who are His are safe in His arms.
But, if you don't know Him, if you have never surrendered to GOD on His terms and been born again, that peace is not promised to you. You must become a child of GOD by receiving Him in faith, and having your sIns forgiven, trusting in His finished work on the Cross of Calvary, to be assured of a new life of discipleship and fellowship in Christ that is abundant and everlasting. Jesus is not willing that any should perish and wants you to come to the knowledge of the Truth. Believe His Word and His love, mercy and grace for you today.
