In the beginning GOD created the Heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of GOD moved upon the face of the waters. And GOD said, Let there be light: and there was light. And GOD saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. (Gen 1:1-5)
The beginning of all things; time, space, matter. GOD who is the Eternal one, created all of it, though at this point it is yet to be in its final form. He then brings light, visible and invisible, the entire spectrum into being, and separates it from darkness, that is the absence of light, and names each. He didn't do this for Himself, but because of what He is going to do as He continues His creation. And He did all this on the first 24 hour day, not because He couldn't do more, or needed to take that long, but because He has a plan and a purpose in everything that He does.
As we work our way through that first week and examine GOD's creative week, we will see His plan and purpose as it unfolds, and understand that it all culminates in His creation of man. A creation that we ruined by our sIn and rebellion against a Holy and righteous GOD. But GOD is gracious, and even in His judgment, extended mercy and He has provided Himself, a Lamb, to take away the sIn of the world. That is the Good News that we must take to this lost and dying world, that while they are no longer the perfect creation that GOD created, through His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary they can be reconciled with their GOD and Creator and receive His forgiveness and Salvation.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His Terms and believe His Word and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. Trust the one who created all things, to recreate a new life in you and receive Him by faith in what He has already done for you.
