For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of GOD. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of GOD upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. (Eph 5:5-10)
As Christians we must understand, behavior matters. Character matters, and how we present ourselves in obedience to GOD is reflective of our position with GOD. Our Eternal life in Him and His forgiveness is not immunity with our Lord, nor can we sIn with impunity after we have received Him, for He is Holy, and calls us to be Holy. We are to be Christ-like, in humble obedience to the Father in all things, that He might be glorified in the light that shines through us. We are free because of Christ, but we are to be different than this world in all things, not just political actions, or social interactions, or even our desires and thoughts, but in all things for we are new creatures in Christ.
Our old ways are not the way we walk any more. We now walk in the Spirit, and live in liberty but not license, and have our being in Christ and He is us. All that is of our old life is to be put away, buried for that life is dead, and we are raised to walk in newness of life. Friendship and compromise with the world is not an option either, for GOD says that the worlds system is at war with Him, and we who are on the Lord's side must not turn to the world or try to 'go along to get along', as the saying goes. Our choice was made when we surrendered all to Him in repentance and faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary and were born again. We are to come out of the world, its systems and religions, and live the new life we have received.
As we walk in Him we are to accomplish His work and will in this world, to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need as His ambassadors. As we live in Him we are to love one another and grow in grace through His Word until we all come into the full measure of Him. As we go where He sends us, we are to take His Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this lost and dying world that those who hear the Good News may repent of their sins and believe in Him and have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
