Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of GOD. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Gal 5:19-25)
As Christians we are filled with the Holy Spirit and are to reflect our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and glorify our Father as salt and light in this sinful and broken world. We ought not to do those things we did before, but allow Him to live in us so that we bear fruit. The works of the flesh which are an abomination and sIn against our holy and righteous GOD are to be put away, for those who are in Christ, are not to walk in the flesh, but in the Spirit. We are to please Him who hath called us, rather than please ourselves, in order for His fruit to produce His good works in us.
The fruit of love produces charity, which never fails. The fruit of joy produces the joy of the Lord which is our strength. The fruit of peace produces the peace of GOD which passeth all understanding. The fruit of longsuffering produces patience which when complete makes us perfect and entire wanting nothing. The fruit of gentleness produces a visible goodness toward others. The fruit of goodness produces holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. The fruit of faith produces faithfulness as we work out our Salvation. The fruit of meekness produces a quiet strength which is of the Lord. The fruit of temperance produces a GOD controlled surrender to Him who hath bought us through His own blood and redeemed us from sIn and the Law.
We do His good works, not to earn anything, for our sIn has been forgiven and our Salvation already purchased by the shedding of His blood and our repentance and faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which GOD hath before ordained that we should walk in them. We are to minister to those around us who are hurting and in need, as GOD guides and provides. We are to disciple one another so we can grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord. We are to take the Good News of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and as we go, proclaim the forgiveness of GOD and His power unto Salvation through the Gospel to every one, that those who hear and believe may receive eternal life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
