Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the Will of God abideth for ever. (1 John 2:15-17)
Our expectation should be our destination. We are not of this world anymore. While we live here, and should not be so Heavenly minded that we are of no earthly good; we are no longer part of this sinful world's family, system, or eventual destruction. As Christians, buried with Christ means dead to the world and the things of the world. Acting worldly once again puts us in direct conflict with our Heavenly Father. When we were lost and without GOD, being at war with Him was part of us; but now that we are adopted this should not be. The same enticements that Adam and Eve saw in the first sIn are what we still battle and struggle with, but GOD calls us away from all that. He gives us the power to resist when we rely on Him and look to Him and His Word for our Basic Instructions before leaving Earth.
But if you are reading this, and wondering what it's all about, because you have never had a saving covenant encounter with the risen Christ; then I want to tell you, only by being in Christ can you accomplish this in true obedience to GOD. If you have never been born again, you are still in your sins and the only thing that you can do is repent; surrender to GOD on His terms and come to Him. Leave this world behind; with its lusts and sinful pleasures that don't satisfy or last, and receive the eternal life that GOD promises to all who come to Him in Faith.
It is your choice, GOD is not going to insist, but He is not willing that anyone should perish and wants you to be saved today.
