Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto Him, Art thou the King of the Jews? Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of Me? Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? Jesus answered, My Kingdom is not of this world: if My Kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a King. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the Truth. Every one that is of the Truth heareth My voice. Pilate saith unto Him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. (Joh 18:33-38)
The testimony of our Lord before Pilate. Truth stood before the authority of this world and the world knew it not. The King of kings whose Kingdom is not yet, nor of this world, had been rejected by His own, and now would be rejected by the indifference of the Gentiles. The Religious leaders of the Jews didn't want Him as King, and the Gentile authorities didn't see Truth when it stood before them. The Jews rejected Him for His Truth turned their kingdom upside down, and the Gentiles weren't looking for a new 'king' to oppose Caesar or their little kingdoms.
Most people today aren't looking to change, don't want the Salvation that GOD provides that turns their world upside down, or refuse to surrender to our Lord and King. Though they are bound for a devil's hell because of their sIn, and are men most miserable without GOD and without hope in this world, they don't see their need, or recognize their condition. They have declared truth as irrelevant and subjective, and of no concern of theirs. Sin is a joke to be dismissed, morality is a old-fashioned concept for religious nuts, and every one does what is right in his own eyes.
But judgment is coming. Jesus testified before Pilate that He is Truth, and He will be the final Judge, when all is revealed. We can either face Him as our Saviour, because of our repentance of our sIn and our faith in Him and His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary, or face Him as the final Judge of our sIn against Him, the righteous Judge. The Kingdom of GOD is here, but one must be born again to see it. The Kingdom of Heaven is coming, though it was rejected when Christ came the first time, when Jesus returns to this earth to rule and reign for a thousand years. Truth is available in His Word, taught by the Spirit that indwells His own and calls all men unto Him.
We who are His, are ambassadors of His Kingdom, and ministers of reconciliation. As surrendered subjects, we are to obey His will and Word, to meet the needs of those who are hurting and in need, as GOD provides and blesses us. As faithful family and friends, we are to love one another, even as He loves us, and grow in His Word as we become more like Him. As dedicated disciples, we are not above our Master, but must go into this world with the Truth, even as He did, and share Him with those around us, that those who hear the Gospel in repentance and believe the Good News of Jesus Christ in faith might have life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
