When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither His disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. And when they had found Him on the other side of the sea, they said unto Him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek Me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for Him hath GOD the Father sealed. Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of GOD? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of GOD, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent. (Joh 6:24-29)
Those that received earthly things from our Lord when He performed miracles, wanted the miracles and the signs to continue, but GOD reminded them that since Salvation is only by faith, that the true blessing from GOD comes from believing in Him, and receiving Him by faith. As listed in Hebrews 11, those who walked by faith, came to GOD because the believed His is, and the He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Their faith was the substance to their hope in Him, and the evidence of things they had not seen. The things they did see, confirmed their faith in Him.
While He walked this earth, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Heaven, shewed them GOD in the flesh, and the Way, the Truth, and the Life. When He had completed the work which GOD had given Him to do, He went willingly and humbly to the Cross to take our place and pay our sIn debt with His perfect sacrifice for our sIn. He was without sIn, and yet He chose to provide the only payment possible, so that we might be reconciled with the Father through faith in Him. The cross was a mystery until it was completed, but fulfilled all the Scriptures and prophecies according to GOD's plan and purposes.
Now, though the Cross is revealed, we still trust GOD and are saved by faith. Faith in His finished and perfect work on the Cross of Calvary for our sIn. Faith in Him, as GOD in the flesh. Faith in His return, not to take us to a place, but to Himself, that where He is, there we will be also. And the just shall live by faith, so we walk in Him, in the Spirit, and by faith, doing His work and will in this sinful and broken world, and trusting Him each step of the way, with the light of His Word to guide our path.
And our work is to minister to others in love and share Christ with all those we meet. We, as His ambassadors, are to meet the needs of those around us who are hurting and in need, as GOD gives the increase. We are to love one another as His disciples, and grow in His Word as He conforms us to the image of His dear Son. We are to take the Gospel from His Word and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all who will hear, that those who believe may receive life in His Name.
For GOD is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance and the knowledge of the Truth. Jesus loves you and wants to establish a covenant relationship with you that is real and personal. Surrender to Him on His terms and He will give you a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. GOD calls you to trust Him and what He has already done for you to pay your sIn debt. He has provided the only way of reconciliation with GOD with forgiveness and Salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD who is GOD the Son, to give you a new life in Christ. Turn away from yourself and your sIn and turn to Him alone for eternal Life, now and always.
