The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. (Pro 10:27-32)
Here we get into the heart of the proverbs. As Solomon begins the second part, we see a collection of contrasts which in the main are generally true. They should not be taken as promises focused on one person, but principles and general statements of what is true and righteous.
We may see some people violate GOD's laws and principles and live, and seem to enjoy it...but the end for that person is terrible and GOD's justice is righteous and perfect. We need to pray and witness.
We may see some follow good and yet are in trouble, but GOD knows the heart and His ways are above our ways, His thoughts above ours, so we need to trust Him in every thing.
With this understanding and the fear of the Lord, we trust Him to take care of us no matter what comes along. We obey His precepts, and follow His commands and let His Spirit within us guide and direct our paths.
But, only those that truly know Jesus, and have that saving relationship with Him by faith can do this. Even the good that the lost do is as filthy rags according to GOD.
If you know Jesus, trust and obey. If not, I pray that this will be the day you are Born Again.
