Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: He hath changed the portion of my people: how hath He removed it from me! turning away He hath divided our fields. (Micah 2:1-4)
A woeful lament against the people of GOD. They were practicing evil and had totally forgotten the Lord their GOD. How terrible it is when the people forget their history, their heritage and their Creator and Provider. GOD will not hold His people guiltless, nor will He allow sIn to go unpunished forever. No matter how long it seems, GOD will eventually (in this world, or in the next) punish sIn. The consequences of our lack of morality and justice as a people, and a nation will catch up to us. When we forget GOD, and deny the moral fiber that was our heritage, we are doomed. GOD will remove His hand of protection and allow us to experience His wrath. This is true for a country, a church, or a person.
GOD is not mocked. When we deny Him and His laws, sooner or later sIn is judged. The wages of sIn is death, and the way of sIn even when it seems right to a man, is the way of death. GOD says to choose life. He wants you to experience forgiveness and liberty in Christ. He calls you to repent and receive His gift of grace and be a new creature in Christ. The old ways, the old life, is opposed to GOD. It is already judged and condemned. Those that are not born again are destined for separation from GOD in Hell and the Lake of Fire. But GOD is not willing that any should perish. He wants you to be saved today.
For those in the Church, GOD calls us to be faithful, to do His will, and to teach all nations all that He has commanded. Obey Him today.
