Today, I am going to do something different. Today is my Birthday, and as a present I want to hear from you. Tell me, in the comments, or by Email how you experienced the 2nd birth.
You see, I have two birthdays. One, today celebrates the day I was born many years ago. The other is the day I surrendered to GOD on His terms and was born again. Because of that 2nd birth, I will only experience one death. If the Lord tarries, when I pass from this life into the next, I will go immediately into the arms of Jesus, and be with Him forever.
My life up to that point had been pretty normal, but I did not have peace, nor was I content. I sought solace and escape through various means, some of which were not healthy or respectful to those around me, or involved in what I did. GOD showed me several things about His Word, His Character, His Salvation and myself. He brought me to a place where I heard about GOD in a whole new way, the way He is described in the Bible, not just my opinions of Him. I learned that I could not save myself, and that I really needed the salvation He purchased on the Cross of Calvary. I understood my sIn, and what it would cost me, and what it had already cost Jesus. When I understood it all, and saw my need for Him, completely and unconditionally, I repented of my sIns and received Him by faith in His finished work on that Cross.
When I believed, Jesus Christ established a covenant relationship with Him that is real and personal. He called me to a brand new life of discipleship and fellowship with Him that is abundant and everlasting. My life is not yet what He wants it to be, but it's a whole lot better than I had without Him, and together we will continue on this journey until He returns, or He calls me Home.
I would love to hear your story, and share in your rejoicing and being born again. If you are not yet in Christ and born again, it would be an even greater gift, if you believed your need for Jesus Christ, and received Him on this day. My first birthday will be your 2nd birthday, and that is the best birthday to have.
GOD is not willing that any should perish, and wants you to come to the knowledge of the Truth. Believe Him today, and let me know so that I can rejoice with you.
